My family is from Cuba and I grew up with dulce de leche eating it straight out of the can after my Abuela would make a batch and putting it on Cuban crackers while dipping it in my Cafe con Leche.
I started baking for the holidays and after numerous failed attempts at baking different cookies
I thought to try my hand at baking Alfajores because who doesn't love a good buttery soft shortbread cookie?
It was a lot of prep work and labor, but I loved every minute of it.
I started in a little kitchen with a tiny oven making 6 cookies at a time.
My soul has always been searching for something I can make my own and use my creativity and have also found it to be extremely grounding and healing.
I always considered myself more of a cook than a baker. Although I still enjoy cooking, baking has become something I can't stop thinking about...This is exactly where I need to be.
Specializing in unique shortbread cookies, better know as Alfajores Originally from Argentina, Peru, Cuba and Spain traditionally filled with dulce de leche. Every Country has their own name and twist to it.
I bring a different approach to these soft buttery cookies. With the help of my friends, I’ve been able to create uncommon flavor concepts, such as Matcha shortbreads filled with a Matcha buttercream, Ube ( a traditional Filipino dessert), Spicy Abuelitas Hot chocolate and will continue to create more! ! It’s so exciting to create various colors and flavors. My Goal is to eventually open up my very own Sweet Bakery Shop so I may continue to share my vision and love for baking with you all.
